The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
The author (may Allah have mercy on him) and others among the scholars, when they mention the opponent’s evidence, must respond to that evidence. This is because the opponent must do two things in facing his adversary: refute his adversary’s evidence, and establish what? His own evidence. He says:
“It is said: The root of your evidence in that is *** our argument against you, and it is self-explanatory”
This means that what you have cited as evidence against us is an argument for us against you. So we turn the evidence against you after you had made it for yourselves.
