Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And Allah is the Greatest, Exalted above the likeness of inanimate objects *** as said by the one who denies the divine attributes and disbelieves
They likened Him to inanimate objects, would that they had *** likened Him to one who is complete in status"

Allah is the Greatest, Exalted above the likeness of inanimate objects. The people who deny the divine attributes likened Him to inanimate objects, saying: He has no hearing, no sight, no speech, no action, no rising above the Throne, and no descending. Thus, they likened Him to inanimate objects. For this reason, he said:
"Allah is the Greatest, Exalted above the likeness of inanimate objects *** as said by the one who denies the divine attributes and disbelieves
They likened Him to inanimate objects"
when they said: He does not speak, does not act, does not hear, and does not see.
"Would that they had *** likened Him to one who is complete in status"
This means: Would that they had likened Him to one who speaks, such as a human being, for example, whom Allah has favored above many of those He has created. The author’s wish here is not a wish for perfection, but rather that what he wished for is better than the first, meaning: Would that they had limited themselves to saying that He is like a human being only, but instead they said: He is like inanimate objects.
