If You Only Knew Whom You Have Spoken To and Whom You Have Sought, You Would Have Spent What You Possess of Prices (The Attributes of the Houris and the Exegesis of the End of Surat al-Rahman and the Meaning of His Saying, Exalted is He:

The Shaykh :"If You Only Knew Whom You Have Spoken To and Whom *** You Have Sought, You Would Have Spent What You Possess of Prices"
Truthfully, if we had known, we would have spent all that we possess of prices and deeds. In reality, we do know, but we do not know the true nature of these women. We know that they are beautiful houris, good in character, that they are confined in the tents, and that they are downcast in their gaze. Therefore, reflect on the verses at the end of al-Rahman. When Allah mentioned the foods and drinks, He distinguished between the two gardens. He said of the first:
(51) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (52) In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds. فيهما عينان تجريان فيهما من كل فاكهة زوجان
[Ar-Rahman 55:51-52]
, and of the second:
(67) So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? (68) In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates. فيهما عينان نضاختان فيهما فاكهة ونخل ورمان
[Ar-Rahman 55:67-68]
, so it is less than the first. But regarding the women, He said:
In them فيهن
, all four are
In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni - فيهن قاصرات الطرف لم يطمثهن إنس قبلهم ولا جان
[Ar-Rahman 55:56]
, and He said of the second:
In them are good and beautiful women. فيهن خيرت حسان
. The difference between "good" (khayrat) and "beautiful" (husan) is that they are good in their character and beautiful in their creation. So the creation is beautiful, and the nature is good and excellent. We ask Allah to make us and you among their people.
