Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"A prison that is narrow for the one with faith ***"
A prison that is narrow for the one with faith, correct, the believer’s prison is the world, for two reasons:
The first reason: that he does not see in it what pleases him in terms of faith and righteous deeds, except rarely.
The second reason: that he anticipates a home that is more gracious, more complete, and more pleasant than this world, is that not so? Yes, Allah the Exalted says:
The ones whom the angels take in death, [being] good and pure; [the angels] will say, "Peace be upon you. Enter Paradise الذين توفاهم الملائكة طيبين يقولون سلام عليكم ادخلوا الجنة
[An-Nahl 16:32]
For this reason, when a person is placed in his grave and asked, doors to Paradise open for him. So the world is the believer’s prison without doubt, and it is, he says:
"*** but a refuge of Paradise for the one with disbelief"
Meaning: the world is a Paradise for the disbeliever, a Paradise because compared to what he will face of punishment, yes, it is a Paradise, and because the disbeliever is not restricted by anything, everything is lawful, he commits unlawful sexual intercourse and steals, and drinks intoxicants, and wears silk, and everything, he indulges himself, so it is a Paradise for him, but for the believer it is a prison.
It is said: that the Judge of Judges, as they describe him, Ibn Hajar (may Allah have mercy on him) was the Judge of Judges in Egypt, and when he came from his home to work, or went here and there, he would ride in a carriage, the carriage at that time was like a Cadillac car for us, yes, the highest thing, a carriage pulled by mules or horses and people surround him. So one day he passed by a man in oil-stained clothes from the Jews, a Jew in oil-stained clothes selling oil, all his clothes were stained with oil and dirty, so he stopped him, the Jew stopped al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar, he said: Come, your Prophet says:
The world is a prison for the believer and Paradise for the disbeliever. إن الدنيا سجن المؤمن وجنة الكافر
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2324Sahih (Darussalam)
And you are now in what you are in of comfort in the world, and he, the Jew, is in what he is in of punishment, punishment, oil-stained clothes, he said: "Yes, the Messenger of Allah spoke the truth, what he was given of the world is, compared to the comfort of the Hereafter, a prison, and what you are in of misery in the world is, compared to the punishment of the Hereafter, comfort" He said: Is that correct? He said: Yes. He said: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, yes, Glory be to Allah! And this is the truth, the world is the believer’s prison and the disbeliever’s Paradise, yes.
