And this argument is sick, rather dead, due to the evidence of revelation and reason proving its invalidity.

The Shaykh : He said: "And this argument is sick, rather dead, due to the evidence of revelation and reason proving its invalidity". Revelation, as stated in the marginal note, refers to the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and you will encounter this expression often, so pay attention to it. The evidence of revelation for this is that Allah the Exalted said:
And your Lord is the Forgiving, full of mercy وربك الغفور ذو الرحمة
[Al-Kahf 18:58]
and He said:
And indeed, your Lord is full of forgiveness for the people despite their wrongdoing وإن ربك لذو مغفرة للناس على ظلمهم
[Ar-Ra'd 13:6]
and He affirmed for Himself knowledge, yet this did not necessitate the multiplicity of the deity; rather, He is one God. The evidence of reason for its invalidity is that the multiplicity of attributes does not necessitate the multiplicity of the described. Look, the human being is described as living, knowing, powerful, strong, hearing, and seeing, and yet he is one.
He said: "As for revelation: because Allah Blessed and Exalted". He says: This argument is sick. What does "sick" mean? It means diseased, rather dead, with no hope or movement.
"As for revelation: it is because Allah the Exalted described Himself with many attributes, even though He is the One, the Unique. He said:
(12) Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. (13) Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. (14) And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, (15) Honorable Owner of the Throne, (16) Effecter of what He intends. إن بطش ربك لشديد إنه هو يبدئ ويعيد وهو الغفور الودود ذو العرش المجيد فعال لما يريد
[Al-Buruj 85:12-16]
And He said:
(1) Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High, (2) Who created and proportioned (3) And who destined and [then] guided (4) And who brings out the pasture (5) And [then] makes it black stubble. سبح اسم ربك الأعلى الذي خلق فسوى والذي قدر فهدى والذي أخرج المرعى فجعله غثاء أحوى
[Al-A'la 87:1-5]
In these noble verses are many attributes for one described, and their establishment did not necessitate the multiplicity of the ancient ones"
. The proof is clear and the argumentation is clear, for He, Glorified and Exalted is He, praises Himself with these attributes while being One.
"As for reason: it is because the attributes are not separate entities from the described, such that their establishment would necessitate multiplicity; rather, they are among the attributes of the one who possesses them, so they subsist in Him. And every existent must have multiple attributes, so in it is the attribute of existence, and its being necessarily existent or possibly existent, and its being a self-subsisting entity or an attribute in another". This final rule: every existent must have multiple attributes. Whatever the existent is, it must have multiple attributes, including the existential ones, and secondly, its being necessarily existent or possibly existent. Necessary existence is only for Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. And its being a self-subsisting entity or an attribute in another is necessary. So these are three attributes that are necessary in every existent:
The first: the attribute of existence.
The second: the description of this existence, whether it is necessarily existent or possibly existent.
The third: that it is either an entity or an attribute; either a self-subsisting entity or an attribute in another.
