A hadith in which Ibn 'Umar was served food and the prayer was called, but he did not come to it until he had finished eating. What is the ruling on prolonging eating until one is delayed from the congregation?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Shaykh, in the previous hadith of Ibn 'Umar, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If any of you is at food, let him not hasten until he has finished his need from it, even if the prayer is called. إذا كان على أحدكم على الطعام فلا يعجل حتى يقضي حاجته منه وإن أقيمت الصلاة
Shaykh, some people mean that this hadith is recommended, that perhaps one fasts the voluntary fasts on Mondays and Thursdays or the white days, so when he breaks his fast, he takes all his leisure until it is the middle of the time between Maghrib and 'Isha', and he has not finished, and the prayer has passed him, and the lesson has passed him.

The Shaykh : What Allah willed, meaning from the setting of the sun to the middle of the time.

The questioner : Sometimes people intend to open the hadith with them, and so on.

The Shaykh : By Allah, in any case, people differ in breaking their fast. Some break it with a little dates and water or coffee and go out to prayer, and this is better, not only because he catches the congregation, but also because it is not befitting for a person, if his stomach is empty, to suddenly fill it, because this is harmful to it. Rather, he should give it little by little. But if it is assumed that a person wants to take a dispensation and says, "I cannot go to the Maghrib prayer until I have eaten my dinner," we tell him that this is a dispensation.

The questioner : And if the prayer passes him.

The Shaykh : The congregational prayer, yes, and if it passes him, but he does not take it out of its time. It is tiring.

The questioner : If he fears missing Maghrib.

The Shaykh : If he fears missing the time, he must pray, except in the case where the two worst things are pressing him, in which case it may be said that he is unable to pray, because some people, when the two worst things press them, are unable to hold them back. So for such a person, we say that even if the time passes.
