The Shaykh : This person is asking why it was not said that Mu'adh used to pray a voluntary prayer with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the obligatory prayer with his people? This is false, both in terms of evidence and reasoning. As for the evidence, it is stated in the hadith itself that it was a voluntary prayer for him and an obligatory prayer for them. As for the reasoning, O, glorified is Allah! Is it possible that Mu'adh would make the prayer that is the most excellent one a voluntary prayer and make the obligatory prayer the lesser one? This is impossible.
