Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Musa ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Juwayriyah ibn Asma' narrated to us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar, who said:
on a journey God’s Messenger would pray on his riding beast in whatever direction it turned, making a sign with his head* in prayer during the night, but not in the obligatory prayers; and he would observe a witr on his riding beast. كان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي في السفر على راحلته حيث توجهت به، يومئ إيماءً صلاة الليل إلا الفرائض، ويوتر على راحلته
Mishkat al-Masabih 1340
.

The Shaykh : This is a sound answer, except for the obligatory prayers, and his saying:
He used to pray in whatever direction it faced. كان يصلي حيث توجهت به
Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah 2:892
