The danger of media channels such as satellite dishes and the like.
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now we find great evils in the media channels that have filled the homes, which are called what? Satellite dishes, or dishes, or satellite stations. Corruption is spread through them that destroys the Ummah. For this reason, I see that it is obligatory for every person who has this satellite dish and it is used for this corruption; I see that it is obligatory for him to break it, and not sell it, because if he sells it, to whom does he sell it? To one who uses it for what is forbidden, and thus he has assisted in what is forbidden.
Then I am amazed at a man who finds these satellite stations in his home and knows that his family uses them for forbidden things, and he is able to prevent them, yet he does not prevent them, he does not prevent them. What do you say about this trust? Did this man fulfill his trust or not? Yes, by Allah, he did not fulfill it, and he will be questioned about it on the Day of Resurrection. And I mention to you a hadith in the two Sahihs, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I seek refuge in Allah Sahih Muslim 142a And it is known that a man is entrusted by Allah with his family, is that not so? Answer me, O brothers? Who is entrusted by Allah with his family? Allah the Exalted and Majestic entrusted him, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entrusted him. As for Allah, He the Exalted said: [At-Tahrim 66:6] He did not say "protect yourselves" only, but "protect yourselves and your families." So just as a person is responsible for himself, he is responsible for - go on - his family. "Protect yourselves and your families from a Fire." So the person, just as he is responsible for himself and it is obligatory for him to protect it from the Fire, he is responsible for his family and it is obligatory for him to protect them from the Fire.
As for the Sunnah, listen to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): And what? Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 212. So who made you a shepherd? Your Lord and your Messenger. If you believe in Allah and His Messenger, then give this care its due, give it its due, fulfill the obligation. You are now in a time of ability, but when the term comes, reform will become impossible for you, reform will become impossible for you. Then this will remain after your death, and you have permitted it, either verbally or in reality, meaning either you permitted it verbally or in reality by seeing them using these satellite channels for these evils and not forbidding them. So this is a trust from me that I fulfill for you, to establish the proof and clarify the path, that you are responsible for that in life and in death, except for the incapable. Allah does not burden a soul except with what it can bear, but one who is capable has no excuse. So it is obligatory for the one who has these satellite dishes that are used for great evils, until we hear things that make the head gray, until they say that a man is shown having intercourse with a woman naked, and may Allah protect us, and she is naked. Who controls himself at this? I mean, if we say the adult Shaykh... the person controls himself, yes, if he controls it, how does the young man control it? How does he control himself? He will be compelled, by natural compulsion, to seek this act by any means, for both women and men, because the nature of humanity is one. Nothing prevents humanity from straying except faith. So when faith weakens, the nature weakens. Therefore, this is a trust from me to everyone who hears in this noble place, or in any place on earth who hears the tape, that it is obligatory for the capable one to break these satellite dishes, and it is not permissible for him to buy or sell them, because it is assistance in sin and transgression. We ask Allah for guidance for us and our brothers.
And I mention to you a hadith in the two Sahihs, in which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No servant whom Allah places in charge of a group of people dies on the day of his death while he is deceiving them, but Allah forbids him Paradise.
ما من عبد يسترعيه الله على رعية يموت يوم يموت وهو غاش لها إلا حرم الله عليه الجنةThere is none amongst the bondsmen who was entrusted
ما من عبد يسترعيه اللهO you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones
يا أيها الذين آمنوا قوا أنفسكم وأهليكم نارا ووقودها الناس والحجارةAs for the Sunnah, listen to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
