Discussion of those who included tawhid al-hakimiyyah in the three categories of tawhid.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And another person added, saying that tawhid has four categories. What are they? He said: tawhid al-rububiyyah, tawhid al-uluhiyyah, tawhid al-asma' wa al-sifat, and tawhid al-hakimiyyah. This addition is considered a deficiency; it is considered a deficiency. Look at how he added, yet he diminished. How did he add and diminish?
We say that al-hakimiyyah, in terms of the ruling coming from the Creator, is a part of which category? It is a part of tawhid al-rububiyyah. And in terms of the created being’s adherence to it, it is part of tawhid al-uluhiyyah. Since it does not go beyond the three categories, why do we specify it? The one who formulated it may have had a certain objective. We do not like to speak about intentions, for knowledge of intentions is with Allah. He may have had another objective, which is challenging the rulers in their ruling, because the ruling must belong to Allah, the One, the Subduer.
And yes, we say the ruling must belong to whom? To Allah, the One, the Subduer. But this is included, in terms of the Creator, in what? In tawhid al-rububiyyah. In terms of the created being who must submit, it is in tawhid al-uluhiyyah. So there is no need, no need to specify it. Good.
