Is prostration of recitation obligatory for students inside the classroom?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Regarding prostration of recitation by students, is prostration of recitation obligatory inside the classroom?

The Shaykh : No, it is not obligatory inside the classroom, because it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that Zayd ibn Thabit recited Surat al-Najm to him, and he did not prostrate in it. It is also established from 'Umar that he recited the prostration verse of Surat al-Nahl on the pulpit, so he came down and prostrated. Then he recited it on the second Friday and did not prostrate, and he said, "Allah has not made prostration obligatory upon us except that we may do it if we wish." And you know that if we told the students to prostrate, there would be harms in reality. First: there is no direction toward the qiblah. Second: there would be disturbance in the classroom. Third: some of them might be in a state of ritual purity and some not. Fourth: I think there would be laughter, with everyone laughing at the other. Therefore, I do not think students should prostrate in their schools, and praise be to Allah, as long as the matter is not obligatory, we have leeway and ease. Yes, why?

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Yes, it is necessary, it is necessary, because it is a prayer.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : No, you are not the one who asked first.

The questioner : ...

The Shaykh : Who asked first? Here, one person asked a comment and we prevented him. So come on, come on, O Amin.
