Prostration of Recitation in Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 12781 )
Q: If I arrive at the Friday dawn prayer and the imam has begun the prayer and recited Surat al-Sajdah and performed the prostration of recitation, should I prostrate on the ground and follow him, or should I wait until he rises to stand? Also, if I miss the prostration of recitation, is it obligatory for me to perform it or not? And is the first rak'ah considered the first one, or the first one that follows it, and the second rak'ah the one that follows the second? Please provide us with a detailed answer. May Allah guide you and record the reward for us and for you, and may Allah assist you in answering the inquiries of those who ask?
A: If a worshipper arrives at the mosque and the imam is prostrating in the prostration of recitation, he should say the takbir of ihram while standing, then follow him in the prostration of recitation and what comes after it. If the prostration of recitation is missed, he owes nothing. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
