Building a house for the imam and the mu'adhdhin: Does this fall under the maintenance of the mosque?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : O Shaykh, does building a house for the imam and the mu'adhdhin count as part of the maintenance of the mosque?

The Shaykh : No.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh.

The Shaykh : No, it is not considered as such. However, there is no doubt that there is good in it and it is a form of assistance, but it is not considered the same as building the mosque; there is a great difference between the two.
How many people have come to the mosque as an imam or mu'adhdhin without a house, and how many have left that position despite having a house? But it is true that having a house for the imam and the mu'adhdhin helps him to perform his duty, because he is close by, making it easier for him to go to the mosque to pray or to go to the mosque to call the adhan. And with this, this session ends. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and his Companions, and those who follow them with excellence until the Day of Judgment.
