The benefit of using parables in the Qur'an.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Among the benefits of this noble verse is that Allah the Exalted uses parables, because parables are tangible matters by which one infers abstract matters. Look at His saying, the Exalted:
The example of those who take allies other than Allah is like that of the spider who takes a home مثل الذين اتخذوا من دون الله أولياء كمثل العنكبوت اتخذت بيتا
[Al-'Ankabut 29:41]
Does this house prevent it or hold it back from the calamities of time? No,
And indeed, the weakest of homes is the home of the spiderوإن أوهن البيوت لبيت العنكبوت
[Al-'Ankabut 29:41]
And He, the Exalted, said:
And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus] والذين يدعون من دونه لا يستجيبون لهم بشيء إلا كباسط كفيه إلى الماء ليبلغ فاه وما هو ببالغه
[Ar-Ra'd 13:14]
A man who stretches his hands toward the water, whether a pool or a river, stretching his hands like this toward the water, trying to reach the water to his mouth; this is not possible. Those who extend their hands to idols are like the one who extends his hands to the river to reach his mouth. So parables, without doubt, bring meanings closer to the human being, either to understand the meaning, or for its wisdom and to clarify the aspect of this parable.
