Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : A man registered his name with the bank to build, and after years he changed his mind and sold his name. What is the ruling on this action?

The Shaykh : If a person applies to the housing bank to build a house for himself, it is not permissible for him to deviate from this request without the bank's approval, because if the door is opened for people to manipulate this, it is said to this man: If you are now in no need of building, or if you have changed your mind, go to the bank and say, "Cancel my name." And if you are in need, rely on Allah and complete the journey.

The questioner : Is it not permissible to sell it?

The Shaykh : No, it is not permissible to sell it, because you have only the right of benefit. So if you benefit from what you registered your name for, do so; otherwise, leave it.
