What is the ruling on a traveler who combines the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers by advancing the 'Asr, knowing that he will enter his town before the time for 'Asr begins?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : If I am traveling and the time for Zuhr enters, am I permitted to combine the Zuhr and 'Asr prayers by advancing the 'Asr, knowing that I will enter the town before the time for 'Asr begins?

The Shaykh : Yes, there is no blame on you. That is, if a person is approaching his town and the time for Zuhr enters, he may combine the 'Asr with it because he is still traveling. However, it is better, if he knows and it is most likely that he will reach his town before the time for 'Asr begins, that he not combine them, because there is no need for that. But if he does combine them, there is no blame on him.

The questioner : But if he combines them and then reaches the town, does he have to pray the 'Asr again?

The Shaykh : No, no, he has performed the obligatory prayer. Yes.
