We heard that some of your books have been halted, such as *Al-Sharh al-Mumti' 'ala Zad al-Mustaqn*, because you have some observations regarding them. So what do we do with the copies that

The questioner : His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : The books that have been verified for you, O Shaykh, the books that have been verified for you, O Shaykh Muhammad

The Shaykh : Yes

The questioner : We heard that they were halted, like the commentary on al-Zad

The Shaykh : No, they were not halted. But most of the books that were published for me recently, or the earlier ones that were printed and had been edited by me, have no problem. However, the recent ones: some of the brothers, out of their love for spreading knowledge and their initiative in doing so, started taking them from the audio tapes. As you know, in the tapes of a lesson, there is transposition and delay, and there may be mispronunciations, and perhaps a person might slip up, for example, his tongue might get ahead of him to something. So they started taking them from the tapes, then transcribing them, and then coming to us saying, "Allow us to do so." Of course, we trust some of them because of their knowledge and experience. But as the saying goes, "No one scratches your back but your own fingernail." No matter how capable a person is, there must be some flaw. But these books, for example, at the top of them is *Al-Mumti'*, the commentary on *Zad al-Mustaqn*, which is one of the most beneficial ones, as far as we know, because it contains things you may not find in the books of the predecessors. What happened recently is that we are now correcting it because there are important things that were omitted. But those who undertook its printing considered, in their opinion, that they did not need to be mentioned. So we are adding them now. Likewise, in the book *Al-Tawhid*—*Al-Qawl al-Mufid Sharh Kitab al-Tawhid*—there are some omissions, and its correction has been completed, praise be to Allah, so that it may be printed as the commentary on *Al-'Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah* was printed. These are the most important books. As for the smaller things, like the commentary on *Al-Ajrumiyyah* or the commentary on *Al-Waraqat* or the like, their matter is easy. But the important thing is these great books that deal with creed or deal with jurisprudence; these are important.

The questioner : ... Do we burn these books later, or how?

The Shaykh : No, do not burn them.

The questioner : Because I have a collection, for example, the book of *Al-Tawhid* and *Al-Wasitiyyah*.

The Shaykh : If the new one comes out, look at what is missing and attach it to your book, and that is the end of it. Keep your book with you.
