The reciter: And 'Amr ibn Suwaid al-'Amiri and Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to us, saying: Ibn Wahb informed us, saying: Yunus informed me, saying: Ibn Shihab informed me, saying: 'Urwah ibn al-Zubayr informed me, saying: Aisha, the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), said:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delayed the 'Isha prayer one night, which is called al-'Atamah, and did not come out until 'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "The women and children have fallen asleep." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out and said to the people of the mosque when he appeared to them: "No one from the people of any land waits for it except you, and that was before Islam spread among the people."
أعتم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ليلة من العشاء وهي التي تدعى العتمة فلم يخرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم حتى قال عمر بن الخطاب نام النساء والصبيان، فخرج رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال لأهل المسجد حين خرج عليهم: ما ينتظرها أحد من أهل أرض غيركم وذلك قبل أن يفشو الإسلام في الناس
Harimah added in his narration: Ibn Shihab said, "It was mentioned to me"
That the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What was it that made you delay the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the prayer, and that was when 'Umar ibn al-Khattab cried out."
أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال وما كان لكم أن تنزروا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم على الصلاة وذاك حين صاح عمر بن الخطاب
