The reader: And Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to me, informing us that Ibn Wahb informed us, and Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab

The Shaykh : On whom does the chain of this hadith currently rest? On Ibn Shihab?
The student: No.

The Shaykh : In the first context, not in the second, third, and fourth contexts from Ibn Shihab. But sometimes the hadith comes through him from Salim and 'Abd Allah, sometimes from Salim alone, and sometimes from 'Abd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah, meaning it seems he narrates from Salim alone, from 'Abd Allah alone, and from both of them together. Yes.
The reader: And Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to me, informing us that Ibn Wahb informed us, and Yunus informed me from Ibn Shihab, who told me from Salim ibn 'Abd Allah from his father:
That 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, while he was delivering the sermon to the people on Friday, a man from among the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered, and 'Umar called out to him, "What time is this?" He said, "I was occupied today and did not return to my family until I heard the call to prayer, so I did nothing more than perform wudu." 'Umar said, "Even wudu? And you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to order the ghusl."
