The Book of Mosques and Places of Prayer-10b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah narrated to us, and Ghundar narrated to us from Shu'bah. He said: And Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna and Ibn Bashshar narrated to us, both saying: Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, and Shu'bah narrated from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn al-Hasan ibn Ali, who said:
When al-Hajjaj arrived in al-Madinah, we asked Jabir ibn Abdullah, and he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would pray the midday prayer at the height of the heat, the afternoon prayer while the sun was still clear, the sunset prayer when it became due, and the night prayer sometimes he would delay it and sometimes he would hasten it. If he saw that they had gathered, he would hasten it, and if he saw that they were slow, he would delay it. As for the dawn prayer, they used to, or he said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray it at the time of twilight.
.

The Shaykh : They would pray the midday prayer at the height of the heat, meaning the intense heat, and the afternoon prayer while the sun was clear, meaning they would hasten to perform it before the sun turned yellow, and the sunset prayer when it became due, meaning when the sun had set. The night prayer, sometimes he would delay it and sometimes he would hasten it according to the presence of the people. If he saw that they had gathered, he would hasten it, and if he saw that they were slow, he would delay it. And the dawn prayer, he used to pray it at the time of twilight, meaning early. This is the most comprehensive and clearest hadith in detail regarding the times of prayer.
