The reciter: Yahya ibn Yahya, Sa'id ibn Mansur, Abu al-Rabi', and Qutaybah ibn Sa'id narrated to us. Yahya said: He informed us, and the others said: He narrated to us. Abu 'Awanah narrated to us from Bakiyr ibn al-Akhnas from Mujahid from Ibn 'Abbas, who said:
Allah has prescribed the prayer through the word of your Prophet (ﷺ) as four rak'ahs when resident, two when travelling, and one when danger is present. فرض الله الصلاة على لسان نبيّكم صلى الله عليه وسلّم في الحضر أربعا وفي السفر ركعتين وفي الخوف ركعة
