The reciter: And Yahya ibn Habib al-Harithi narrated to us, saying: Khalid, meaning ibn al-Harith, narrated to us, saying: Qarah narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us, saying: Sa'id ibn Jubayr narrated to us, saying: Ibn Abbas narrated to us:
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) combined the prayers as he set on a journey in the expedition to Tabuk. He combined the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the 'Isha' prayer. أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم جمع بين الصلاة في سفرة سافرها في غزوة تبوك فجمع بين الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء
Sahih Muslim 705c
Sa'id said: So I said to Ibn Abbas: What prompted him to do that? He said: He intended not to burden his Ummah.
