The reciter: And Ahmad ibn Yunus and 'Uwan ibn Salam both narrated to us from Zuhayr. Ibn Yunus said: Zuhayr narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Zubayr narrated to us from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn 'Abbas, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed the noon and afternoon prayers together in Medina without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey. صلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم الظهر والعصر جميعا بالمدينة في غير خوف ولا سفر
Sahih Muslim 705b
Abu al-Zubayr said: "So I asked Sa'id why he did that. He said: I asked Ibn 'Abbas just as you asked me, and he said: He intended not to cause any hardship for anyone from his Ummah".
