Explanation of the Book of Friday Prayer and the Two Festivals-10a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Abu al-Yaman narrated to us, Shu'ayb informed us, Abu al-Zinad informed us from 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money will overflow amongst you.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1036
.

The Shaykh : His statement: "Chapter on what was said regarding earthquakes and signs" means: Is a prayer performed for them like the prayer for the eclipse, or is supplication made for their removal, or what?
The scholars differ on this. Some said: A prayer for the eclipse is performed for them, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when explaining the prayer for the solar and lunar eclipses, said:
The sun and the moon are two signs against the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse on the death or life of anyone. So when you see
Sahih al-Bukhari 1044
And in another wording:
When you see something of that
which indicates that signs that deviate from the norm are prayed for.
The strong wind does not apply to us, because something specific was reported for the strong wind, which is supplication.
The well-known view among the jurists (may Allah have mercy on them) is that prayer is not performed except for a continuous earthquake, so the prayer for the eclipse is performed for it.
Then the author (may Allah have mercy on him) cited this hadith in which he said:
The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away
Sahih al-Bukhari 1036
And the taking away of knowledge, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Indeed, Allah does not take it away by force from the hearts of men, but He takes it away by the death of the scholars. When the scholars die, people take ignorant leaders as their heads, and they ask them, and they issue rulings to them without knowledge, so they go astray and they lead others astray.
.
And earthquakes become frequent
By earthquakes, earthquakes of the earth are meant. Earthquakes of the earth become frequent in near and far places. It can be said that earthquakes include spiritual earthquakes that occur through bad, deviant ideas that are spread, so evil thought comes, and what is more evil than it comes, and what is more wicked.
and time becomes close ويتقارب الزمان
The drawing close of time has several meanings, one of which is that a long or extensive period of time comes upon a person as if it were short. For example, now, you hardly go from one Friday to the next Friday, and it is as if the week is one day. It is also possible that the drawing close of time means shortening the time in long distances, as has happened now. A traveler from al-Qasim to Makkah previously would take twenty days to ten days at high speed. Now he takes one hour or an hour and a half, meaning a person can perform ablution in al-Qasim in his home and perform his 'Umrah with that ablution. Also, the drawing close of time is from the aspect of communications. In the previous era, a person would send a letter to a not very far country, and it would remain for days before the letter reached him, and then his reply would remain for other days. They used to use postal pigeons; they would raise pigeons and train them, and they had specific places. They would fly in lines until they reached certain towers, where they would rest, and the letters would be taken from them to other pigeons, and so on until they reached the destination quickly. Similarly, postal horses were like this. But now, the matter is truly astonishing; it is possible to speak to a person at the farthest point of the earth while you are sitting at your table. In fact, you can send him a handwritten message and it reaches him in minutes. This is part of the drawing close of time.
According to the first opinion that the drawing close of time means time, the scholars of knowledge said: That indicates comfort, abundance of provision, and few trials, because with rest, days pass quickly, and with fatigue, poverty, and wars, times become long.
He said:
And trials will appear
Trials is the plural of trial, and it is general. Trials in creed, trials in morals, trials in wealth, meaning everything that diverts from the religion of Allah is a trial, as Allah the Exalted said:
Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell
[Al-Buruj 85:10]
Yes, they diverted them from their religion
[especially] if you fear that those who disbelieve may disrupt [or attack] you
[An-Nisa 4:101]
meaning they divert you from your religion. And in the story of the Ditch, the trial is diverting from the religion and also burning.
Trials appear. Trials now exist. Multiple trials have appeared in morals, ideas, creeds, and others.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1036
Al-Haraj means killing, and this is also frequent. You hardly turn on the radio to listen to the broadcast without finding killing, either little or much. Then, the killing is actually blind; the killer does not know for what he killed, and the killed does not know for what he was killed. We ask Allah for safety.
And his statement
till wealth is abundant
Sahih Muslim 157d
The apparent correct one is:
And until
because this is not the first one. If you went back to the explanation?
The reciter: "It is said that the discussion on this will be fully covered in the Book of Trials".

The Shaykh : This is the first one?
The reader: No.

The Shaykh : No, the first one has little reference. Do you have al-Qastallani? You don't have al-Qastallani? If someone brings it? Kamil is in the library, if you bring it.
The reciter: Around the waw, is there ...?

The Shaykh : Yes, yes, I say if you bring it, because (may Allah have mercy on him) he does not refer to it. Now it is delayed, if Allah wills, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
Did he not point to it?
The reciter: I did not find anything.

The Shaykh : He refers to it in another context, if Allah wills. And his statement:
till wealth is abundant and overflowing
Sahih Muslim 157d
meaning it increases. From the water of the valley when it goes out of its course, and this has happened and may happen again more severely than what happened.
The point of this hadith is his statement
And earthquakes will increase
and it is not in the hadith that when they become frequent, the prayer for the eclipse is performed for them. For this reason, al-Bukhari did not assert the ruling but said: "Chapter on what was said regarding earthquakes".
