Explanation of the Book of Hajj-06a

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Yahya ibn Bukayr narrated to us, al-Layth narrated to us from 'Aqil from Ibn Shihab from 'Urwah from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her). And Muhammad ibn Muqatil narrated to me, saying: 'Abdullah, who is Ibn al-Mubarak, informed me, saying: Muhammad ibn Abi Hafsa informed us from al-Zuhri from 'Urwah from 'A'ishah (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
They used to fast on the Day of 'Ashura before Ramadan was made obligatory, and it was a day on which the Ka'bah was covered. When Allah made Ramadan obligatory, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever wishes to fast on it, let him fast, and whoever wishes to leave it, let him leave it."

The Shaykh : The point of this is his statement:
And it was a day on which the Ka'bah was covered. وكان يوما تستر فيه الكعبه
in order to honor it and respect it, so that it would not be defiled by rain, wind, and the like. Yes.
