Explanation of the Book of Foods-08b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Hujjaj ibn Minhāl narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, he said: ‘Adī ibn Thābit informed me, he said: I heard ‘Abd Allāh ibn Yazīd:
the Prophet forbade spoliation 1 and mutilation 2 عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه نهى عن النهبة والمثلة
Mishkat al-Masabih 2941

The Shaykh : Al-nahbah (plundering) may refer to plundering from war spoils, or to plundering in general. As for plundering from war spoils, it is not permissible because it is ghalul (embezzlement). As for plundering in general, it is forbidden due to the baseness involved and its contradiction of honor, and it is also forbidden if the owner does not consent to it, making it forbidden, though it is not like ghalul from war spoils. As for al-muthlah (mutilation), the discussion on it has already been mentioned.
