Is it permissible to pluck the white hair found on the head or the beard for a man?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to pluck the white hair found on the head or the beard for a man?
The Shaykh : Plucking white hair from the beard is a form of plucking the eyebrows, because plucking the eyebrows is plucking the hair of the face, and the one who plucks the eyebrows is cursed, so it is one of the major sins.
As for plucking white hair from the head, I say: If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade dyeing it black in a way that conceals the white hair, then plucking it is more severe than dyeing it black. Therefore, it should not be plucked. We say to the one who plucks one or two white hairs from his head: If white hair begins to appear on the head, it will eventually cover it all. So, does he pluck every time a hair turns white? If he does that, no hair will be left on his head.
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
