Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His EminenceThe Shaykh : A person had surgery on his jaw.

The Shaykh : In what?

The questioner : On his jaw, so he was forced to shave the right side of his beard.

The Shaykh : He was forced.

The questioner : He was forced to shave the right side of his beard. Is it permissible for him to shave the left side of his beard after the operation, because it would be disfiguring?

The Shaykh : For the sake of making it even, meaning?

The questioner : Yes, indeed

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for the sake of making it even. If people know the effect of the operation, they will excuse him. This is with regard to people. But with regard to the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, He is All-Knowing, so he should leave it. And, if Allah wills, the one who shaved today will not pass a month without his growth being complete.

The questioner : But the beard remains uneven.

The Shaykh : Even if it is not even, this is a necessity. What can be done?
