The questioner : I live in a neighborhood and I have neighbors who do not perform the prayer with us in the mosque, knowing that there is nothing preventing them from praying in the mosque. I visited them in their homes and urged them to pray, and they said: "We will pray," but we have not seen them with us in the mosque. Do I bear any sin for that? And is my conscience cleared of that? I ask for guidance.
The Shaykh : If a person has neighbors who do not pray with the congregation, and he advises them, guides them, directs them, and warns them against transgression, then his conscience is cleared, whether they pray or not. For when a person fulfills what Allah has made obligatory upon him of advice, his conscience is cleared, and upon a person is only the duty of conveying the message.
As for guidance, it is in the hand of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And Allah the Exalted said to His Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family):[Al-Qasas 28:56] And He the Exalted said: [Al-Ghashiyah 88:21-22] And He the Exalted said: [Ash-Shuraa 42:48].
The conclusion is: if a person fulfills the obligatory advice, and the one advised is guided, then that is what is desired, and it is a blessing from Allah upon him and upon the one who gave the advice. And if the other outcome occurs, then the one who is sinful is the one advised, because the proof has been established against him. As for the one who gave the advice, he bears nothing of his sin.
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.

Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills
إِنَّكَ لا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ(21) So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder. (22) You are not over them a controller.
