We said that the martyr is not prayed over if we do not pray over the one who was killed in the path of Allah, so did we affirm this status of martyrdom for him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah forgive you. We said that the martyr is not prayed over if we do not pray over the one who is killed now in the path of Allah, so did we affirm this status of martyrdom for him, that he is a martyr?

The Shaykh : how

The questioner : Is this not martyrdom if we do not pray over the martyr who is killed in the path of Allah? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not pray over them, we said, because they are martyrs. So if we do not pray over anyone now, is this not martyrdom?

The Shaykh : These are the rulings of this world, not the rulings of the Hereafter. In this world, we apply the rulings to everyone, including the one who is killed in the path of Allah; we treat him as a martyr in this world. But we do not testify that he is a martyr in the sight of Allah. The rulings of this world are based on the apparent evidence.
