Explanation of the Book of the Hearts-03b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Ishaq ibn Ibrahim ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, saying: Ishaq, who is al-Azraq, narrated to us from Mas'ar ibn Kadam from Hilar al-Wazzan from Urwah from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said: "The family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) never ate two meals in a day unless one of them was dates".

The Shaykh : Allahu Akbar. Her statement:
Never had the family of Muhammad (ﷺ) eaten to the fill since their, arrival in Medina with the bread of wheat ما شبع آل محمد منذ قدم المدينة من طعام بر
Sahih Muslim 2970a
contains evidence that wheat was scarce at that time and was one of the foods that was difficult to obtain. And so it was, for wheat in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was little. It did not become abundant until after the conquests in the time of Mu'awiyah and after him, meaning it did not become abundant in Madinah.
