The reciter: Abdullah ibn Munir narrated to me that he heard Abu al-Nadr say: Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdullah, meaning Ibn Dinar, narrated to us from his father, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: Sahih al-Bukhari 6478.
The Shaykh : All of this contains a warning against letting the tongue run loose, and that a person should guard his tongue. A person must guard his tongue, for he may say a word that causes him to slip, and he will end up in the Fire of Hell.
A slave (of Allah) may utter a word which pleases Allah without giving it much importance, and because of that Allah will raise him to degrees (of reward): a slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire.
إن العبد ليتكلم بالكلمة من رضوان الله لا يلقي لها بالاً يرفعه الله بها درجات وإن العبد ليتكلم بالكلمة من سخط الله لا يلقي لها بالاً يهوي بها في جهنمThe Shaykh : All of this contains a warning against letting the tongue run loose, and that a person should guard his tongue. A person must guard his tongue, for he may say a word that causes him to slip, and he will end up in the Fire of Hell.
