Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Ramadan began while I was still experiencing post-natal bleeding, and on the twelfth day of Ramadan, which was the thirty-seventh day of my post-natal bleeding, the blood stopped before dawn. So I intended to fast, but I was not certain of my purity. I waited the whole day, but I did not see anything confirming purity, and no blood came down. I did not take a ritual bath until after the call to Maghrib prayer. So, is that day counted as a fast for me, or do I have to make it up? And is there anything else I have to do? Please guide us. May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible for a woman experiencing post-natal bleeding or menstruation to pray or fast until she is certain of her purity, because the default ruling is the continuation of menstruation and post-natal bleeding. As long as she fasted that day while doubting whether she had become pure or not,
she must repeat the fast for that day, because it is not valid.
