The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. He says:The questioner : A man whose wife gave birth, and during the days of post-natal bleeding she became pure and the blood stopped on the twentieth day, so she performed the ritual bath, then he had intercourse with her, and then two days later the blood came to her again.
The Shaykh : After the intercourse, there is no blame on you in this, because if a woman becomes pure from her post-natal bleeding before the completion of forty days, then she prays and fasts, and her husband may come to her, and if her prayer is lawful, then intercourse with her is lawful, and prayer is greater than intercourse. So on this basis, whenever the woman who has given birth becomes pure, even if it is after five days of her post-natal bleeding, it is obligatory for her to perform the full ritual bath, and to pray, and to fast if that is in Ramadan, and it is permissible for her husband to have intercourse with her, and it is also permissible for her to recite the Qur'an, and everything that is lawful for those in a state of purity is lawful for her. If it returns, one looks: is it post-natal blood, or blood from a heavy pregnancy, or from a wound, or something similar to that, according to the situation.
