The second opinion is that the stone referred to is the stone that is placed in the mouth, because the adulterer claims the child, so a stone is put in his mouth. This is the correct opinion, because the first opinion that the stone belongs to the adulterer is not valid in the case where the adulterer is a virgin. Therefore, the correct view is contrary to what al-Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him) leaned toward; the stone is the one placed in his mouth to refute his claim.
