Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: Imam Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) said in his Sahih book. The commentator said in the chapter on "The child belongs to the bed and avoiding suspicion."
Sa'id ibn Mansur, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah, and 'Amr al-Naqqad narrated to us, saying: Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us. And 'Abd ibn Hamid narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, saying: Ma'mar informed us. Both of them narrated from al-Zuhri with this chain of narration, similar to it, except that Ma'mar and Ibn 'Uyaynah, in their hadith, said,
The child belongs to the bed الولد للفراش
and they did not mention
and the fornicator gets a stone وللعاهر الحجر
.

The Shaykh : In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Regarding his statement, "The child belongs to the bed," we have previously spoken about this and clarified that this is general or applies in the case of dispute, and we explained that the correct view is that it applies in the case of dispute. As for his statement,
And for the fornicator is the stone للعاهر الحجر
, it was said that the meaning is that he is given a stone in his mouth, which is an idiom for rejecting his claim. It was also said that the meaning of "for the fornicator is the stone" is stoning, if he is a married man. The first view is supported by the fact that his term "al-'ahar" (the fornicator) includes both the virgin and the married man. The second view is supported by the fact that it is understood in its literal sense, because placing a stone in the mouth is far-fetched literally, but the intended meaning is what? It is the rejection of his claim; the intended meaning is the rejection of his claim. And if it is said that both meanings are correct, there is no harm, meaning that "for the fornicator is the stone" means stoning with stones if he is a married man, or "for the fornicator is the stone" means that he is given a stone in his mouth, which is an idiom for rejecting his claim where he claimed that the child is his. Yes.
