Ata said: "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not punish him".
And Ibn Jurayj said: "Nor did he punish the one who had intercourse in Ramadan. Nor did 'Umar punish the owner of the gazelle".
In it is: from Abu Usman, from Ibn Mas'ud, from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
The Shaykh : One who commits a sin that does not reach the threshold of a fixed punishment, then informs the Imam after repenting, if he comes seeking a ruling, he is not to be rebuked. Rather, if he needs assistance with physical labor, it is provided, because he came repentant and remorseful. If we were to rebuke him or punish him, that would deter people from such a matter.
