The reciter: 'Iyash ibn al-Walid narrated to us, 'Abd al-A'la narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from 'Abdullah ibn 'Umar:
Those people who used to buy foodstuff at random (without weighing or measuring it) were beaten in the lifetime of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) if they sold it at the very place where they had bought it, till they carried it to their dwelling places.
Sahih al-Bukhari 6852

The Shaykh : Allah is the Greatest. Yes, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade selling goods in the place where they were bought until they are moved to the dwelling. For example, if you buy a car from a showroom, it is not permissible to sell it in the showroom; move it to your garage, to your house, or to another place, and then sell it. The same applies to other items. And his statement: "They used to be struck if they bought food in bulk" is to clarify the reality of the situation. For this reason, Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "And I do not think anything is except like it", meaning like food. The wisdom behind this is that a person generally does not sell something unless he profits from it. If he sells it and profits in the seller's place, the seller may become jealous and angry, and he might try to fabricate something to spoil the first sale, thereby causing discord and conflict. You know, may Allah reward you, that this Shari'ah is built on harmony in dealing with people and removing hostility and hatred.
live like fellow-brothers as servants of Allah
Sahih Muslim 2559d, e
,
The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim
, a Muslim does not sell over the sale of his brother, nor does he buy. Allah has forbidden intoxicants and gambling because they turn people away from the remembrance of Allah and cause hostility and hatred among people. For this reason, the Shari'ah has forbidden everything that leads to hostility and hatred. And unfortunately, some people today carry the banner of knowledge, the banner of the Sunnah, and the banner of zeal, yet they spread hostility among people, may Allah protect us from that. It is not hostility among the general public, but hostility among scholars and students of knowledge. He comes to someone and says, "So-and-so said such and such, and so-and-so said such and such," or he talks about him in such a way, or the like. A wise person, when someone conveys to him something about a person, should recall a verse from the Qur'an that is sufficient for him, which is:
(10) And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer (11) [And] scorner, going about with malicious gossip -
[Al-Qalam 68:10-11]
Do not obey him. And know that whoever tells you about others will be told about you; there is no difference. Perhaps a person will come and say, "So-and-so said such and such about you," just to get a word and fly with it to the second person. For this reason, beware of the talebearer. And if someone tells you a story, say to him, "Fear Allah, do not spread hostility." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The beater of false tales would never enter heaven.
Sahih Muslim 105b
, meaning a talebearer. So, in summary, we have strayed a little. The summary is that it is not permissible to sell goods in the place where they were sold until they are moved to the dwelling. And his statement: "to their dwellings", it appears that this is also a general condition, and the meaning is to move from the place of sale to one's dwelling or to another place, such as another showroom, for example. And it is regrettable that many Muslims today sell their goods in the place of their sale and do not care about this.
