What is the ruling on selling goods in the place where they were purchased?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Your Eminence, may Allah forgive you, a person comes to one of the exhibitions and buys a car, then says to the owner of the exhibition: "Sell it if it brings a profit of such-and-such," without moving it from its place to his home or moving it at all. Is this permissible?

The Shaykh : This is prohibited, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
forbade to sell the goods where they are bought until the tradesmen take them to their houses نهى أن تباع السّلع حيث تبتاع حتّى يحوزها التّجّار إلى رحالهم
Sunan Abi Dawud 3499Hasan li ghairih (Al-Albani)
. So if he takes it to another place and says to the owner of the exhibition: "Sell it," there is no harm. He may sell it while it is in its place, but he must not sell it in the same exhibition.
