Abu Musa and Abu Mas'ud visited 'Amir when 'Ali sent him to the people of Kufah to mobilize them. They said, "We have not seen you do anything since you embraced Islam that we disliked more than your haste in this matter." 'Amir said, "I have not seen either of you do anything since you embraced Islam that I disliked more than your delay in this matter." He then clothed them in a robe each, and then they went to the mosque.

دخل أبو موسى وأبو مسعود على عمار حيث بعثه علي إلى أهل الكوفة يستنفرهم فقالا ما رأيناك أتيت أمرًا أكره عندنا من إسراعك في هذا الأمر منذ أسلمت فقال عمار : ما رأيت منكما منذ أسلمتما أمرًا أكره عندي من إبطائكما عن هذا الأمر ، وكساهما حلةً حلةً ثم راحوا إلى المسجد
