What is the ruling on eating frozen meat whose origin is unknown and whose method of slaughter is unknown?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on eating frozen meat whose origin is unknown and whose method of slaughter is unknown? Please guide us in light of this question.

The Shaykh : It is not permissible to eat slaughtered meat unless we know that it came from one whose slaughter is permissible. Those whose slaughter is permissible are of three categories: Muslims, Jews, and Christians, based on the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them
[Al-Ma'idah 5:5]
Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) interpreted this to mean that whatever they slaughter is lawful. This is indicated by the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and companions) accepted a gift of a sheep from a Jewish woman and ate from it. If the slaughter comes from its people, meaning a Muslim, a Jew, or a Christian, we are not required to know whether it was slaughtered according to the Islamic method or not, or whether the name of Allah was mentioned or not. This is because the default assumption regarding the action of its people is that it is done correctly. For this reason, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family and companions) was asked about a group of people who bring meat, and it is not known whether they mentioned the name of Allah over it or not, he said to the questioner:
Mention the name of Allah and eat سموا أنتم وكلوا
However, if you do not know where this meat came from, and it is possible that it came from a land where the slaughter of its people is not permissible, or from a land where the slaughter of its people is permissible, do not eat it.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
