The questioner : Your Eminence, we observe that some of the worshippers, during their prostration, lift one of their feet or both. What is the ruling on this?
The Shaykh : It is not permissible for the one in prostration to lift any of his seven limbs, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 2:183.
If he lifts his feet, or one of them, or his hands, or one of them, or his forehead, or his nose, or both, then his prostration is invalid and not counted. And if his prostration is invalid and he does not make it up in the prescribed manner, then his prayer is invalid.
