He also says: We have people who say that 'Abdullah, the father of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), is for the Fire.

The questioner : I ask the second question, and I believe that there is a sin on me for this question, which is that we have people who say that 'Abdullah, the father of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), is for the Fire, and people who say no, rather he is for Paradise because he is the father of a Prophet. Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good. And is there a sin on me for this question? If there is a sin on me, is there an expiation for it? Please inform us, may Allah reward you with good, and may you remain well?

The Shaykh : First, there is no sin on you for this question, but this is not one of the questions that it is recommended to ask about, because it has no benefit whatsoever. However, after asking about it, one must answer it.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : It is said that the father of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) died upon disbelief and he is in the Fire, as it is established in the authentic hadith that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, where is my father?" He said:
Your father is in the Fire أبوك في النار
When the man left, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called him back and said to him:
My father and your father are in the Fire أبي وأبوك في النار
.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And this is the text in the hadith from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And on this basis, the father of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is like the other disbelievers; he will be in the Fire.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner : This is a message from 'Abd al-Samad 'Abd al-Rahim, and he says in this message...

The Shaykh : No, he is still among us.

The questioner : Please go ahead.

The Shaykh : And the brother questioner says that some people say he is not in the Fire because he is the father of a Prophet.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : And this does not prevent him from being in the Fire if he is the father of a Prophet. This is like Azar, the father of Ibrahim, who was a disbeliever and was in the Fire. For this reason, when Allah the Exalted mentioned that Ibrahim sought forgiveness for his father, Allah the Exalted said:
And the request of forgiveness of Abraham for his father was only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became apparent to Abraham that his father was an enemy to Allah, he disassociated himself from him. Indeed was Abraham compassionate and patient. وما كان استغفار إبراهيم لأبيه إلا عن موعدة وعدها إياها فلما تبيّن له أنه عدو لله تبرّأ منه إن إبراهيم لأواه حليم
[At-Tawbah 9:114]
. Yes.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : Very well.

The questioner : This is a message from 'Abd al-Samad 'Abd al-Rahim, and he says in it.
