The reciter: And Harimah ibn Yahya narrated to me, saying: Abdullah ibn Wahb narrated to us, saying: Amr informed me that Ibn Shihab told him that Salim ibn Abdullah ibn Umar and Humaid ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf narrated to him from Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab that he said:
A man stood up and said: O Messenger of Allah, how is the night prayer? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The night prayer is in pairs, in pairs. So when you fear the dawn, perform witr with one unit. قام رجل فقال: يا رسول الله كيف صلاة الليل؟ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلّم: صلاة الليل مثنى مثنى فإذا خفت الصبح فأوتر بواحدة
