The Reciter: And 'Abd al-Malik ibn Shu'ayb ibn al-Layth narrated to me, my father narrated to me, from my grandfather, he said: 'Uqayl ibn Khalid narrated to me, from Ibn Shihab, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, and Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, that they narrated to him, from Abu Hurayrah, that he said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave us the news of the death of Negus, the ruler of Abyssinia, on the day when he died, and he said (to us): Beg pardon for your brother. نَعَى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النَّجَاشِيَ صَاحِبَ الْحَبَشَةِ، فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، فَقَالَ: اسْتَغْفِرُوا لِأَخِيكُمْ
Sahih Muslim 951b
Ibn Shihab said: And Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib narrated to me, that Abu Hurayrah narrated to him
