The Book of Hajj-04b

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The reciter: And Abu Kuraib narrated to us, he said: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, he said: Hisham narrated to us from his father, from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who said:
We set out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for the first of Dhu al-Hijjah, and we saw nothing but Hajj, or we did not see anything but Hajj. خرجنا موافين مع رسول الله صلّى الله عليه وسلّم لهلال ذي الحجّة ، لا نَرى أو لا نُرى إلّا الحجّ
.

The Shaykh : Do we have "or we do not see" in our copy, or do you have "or we do not see"?
The reciter: The noon is marked with both fathah and dammah.

The Shaykh : No, in my copy it is "we do not see," and it has two vowel marks: a fathah and a dammah.
The reciter: In a case like this, O Shaykh?

The Shaykh : In the example, we say with a fathah and a dammah on the noon.
The reciter: And it is read?

The Shaykh : Or "we do not see"; we think this is a doubt from the narrator.
The reciter: Is the doubt from the reciter?

The Shaykh : No, no, it is a variation from the reciter.
The reciter: "We saw nothing but Hajj," so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever among you wishes to declare his intention for 'Umrah, let him declare his intention for 'Umrah. من أحبّ منكم أن يهلّ بعمرةٍ ، فليهلّ بعمرةٍ
Sunan al-Bayhaqi 4:169
He continued the hadith, in the same manner as the hadith of 'Ubadah.
