The reciter: And Abu al-Rabi' al-Zuhri narrated to us, and Hammad narrated to us, and Ayub narrated to us, from Nafi', that Ibn 'Umar: كان لا يقدم مكّة إلّا بات بذي طوًى ، حتّى يصبح ويغتسل ثمّ يدخل مكّة نهارًا ، ويذكر عن النّبيّ صلّى الله عليه وسلّم أنّه فعله He would not enter Makkah except that he would spend the night at Dhu al-Hula until morning, then take a ritual bath, and then enter Makkah during the day. He mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did this. Sunan al-Bayhaqi 4:552 .
