Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Also, regarding parties, she says that she has gold jewelry that she wears when she goes to these parties, and she says that this gold is a small amount. Is there zakah on it or not? May you be greatly rewarded, and may Allah preserve you for guiding Muslims, both men and women?

The Shaykh : If it is a small amount, there is no zakah on it. A small amount is what is below the nisab. The nisab is twenty mithqals, which corresponds to eleven Saudi riyals and three-sevenths of a riyal. Whatever reaches this amount is subject to zakah, and whatever is below it is not. There is no difference between a woman who wears it constantly, wears it on occasions, or has prepared it for lending without wearing it; in all these cases, zakah is obligatory due to the generality of the evidence indicating the obligation of zakah on gold and silver. No specific evidence has been transmitted that excludes jewelry from this ruling.

The questioner : May Allah reward you.
