The reciter: And Yahya ibn Ayyub, Qutaybah ibn Sa'id, and 'Ali ibn Hujjah narrated to us, saying: Isma'il ibn Ja'far narrated to us, saying: Rabi'ah informed me from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Huban from Ibn Mahiriz, who said:
I and Abu Sarmah went in to Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, and Abu Sarmah asked him, saying: O Abu Sa'id, did you hear the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) mention coitus interruptus? He said: Yes. We campaigned with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the campaign of Bani Mustaliq, and we took as captives the noble women of the Arabs. Our stay with them was prolonged, and we desired the ransom, so we wanted to enjoy them and practice coitus interruptus. We said: We will do it, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is among us, but we did not ask him. So we asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: There is no harm on you in not doing it. Whatever soul Allah has decreed to be created until the Day of Resurrection will surely come into being.
