As for the Attributes, they are the descriptions; the descriptions of Allah, the Exalted, are called attributes, just as they are called descriptions. So you say, “Allah described Himself with such and such,” meaning He described Himself. As for the Names, the Names of Allah, their matter is known. Allah named Himself with many names and made ninety-nine of them such that whoever enumerates them will enter Paradise.
